FSSAI license for Nutraceuticals and Health Supplements
FSSAI is a government site which stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India where the Manufacturers of Nutraceuticals or Health Supplement products like Tablets, Capsules, Syrups or Powders applied for License. For the manufacturing of these products you need to take License which requires various mandatory documents like proper Layout of your firm which requires proper Space Management or Ventilation for the running of heavy machines, Making Recall Plan which guide us to meet the requirements for proper Hygiene, Safety and the Quality of the Food which protects consumer health also.
- Maximum Dose of Nutraceuticals
Every product has its own RDA value which is fixed by the WHO for adequate intake of Vitamins and Minerals in Human Body. We can’t use more than the RDA value of each product. For Eg. Vitamin B12 has an RDA value of 2.2 mcg/day, then you will not exceed the dose upto 2.2 mcg and if you do then serious actions may be taken against you.
- I have applied for my FSSAI License online at Himachal Pradesh, 2 months passed but there is not any single update on my License. Currently I received an order for my products. Should I start selling my products or not.
Basically the time required for the Grant of License as per FSS Acts, Rules and Regulations is only for 60 Days. But if you did n’t receive any query on your application, then after the completion of 2 months you will be liable to start your Business activities.
- I want to take an export License for Nutraceutical products. Kindly let me know what documents and time required for the procedure
A lot of Documents will be required for the export licensing some of them are:- Import Export Code issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) which is of 10 digits and valid upto Lifetime.
- Area is required for Wholesale and Retail License
110 sq ft area is required. 150 sqft area is required for combined License of Wholesale and Retail sale.
- The status of License after change of constitution
In case of a change of Constitution, you have to take a new license. Because the old license is not valid.
