Givaudan Establishes Humanitarian Fund; First Aid for Valencia Flood Victims

In a significant move, Givaudan has introduced a humanitarian fund designed to deliver financial aid during significant crises in regions where it operates. Their inaugural contribution aims to bolster response and recovery efforts for those impacted by recent floods in Valencia.

This initial CHF100,000 donation is being allocated to the Spanish Red Cross, reinforcing Givaudan’s commitment in Spain, where it maintains four operational sites. The newly established Givaudan Humanitarian Fund seeks to enhance the effectiveness of the company’s humanitarian donations by enabling any Givaudan employee to recommend a relevant donation proposal within their area. The fund will be overseen centrally to ensure efficient distribution of resources.

Simon Halle-Smith, the Head of Global Human Resources and EHS, expressed the company’s dedication, stating that the Givaudan Humanitarian Fund is a vital mechanism in acting on their global community commitments. Reflecting on the inaugural donation intended for Valencia’s communities, Halle-Smith conveyed earnest condolences to those affected by the disaster. He recognized the Spanish Red Cross for their critical relief work and highlighted Givaudan’s pride in supporting their essential efforts.
