CTPA Unveils New Government Agenda

UK cosmetics industry body CTPA introduced its latest Government Agenda during a gathering that saw attendance from a diverse group of MPs, government officials, regulatory bodies, industry insiders, and business leaders.

With insights from fresh Opinium research, the newly launched agenda comprises a series of proposals from the cosmetics, personal care, and beauty sectors. Designed to propel industry growth over the next half-decade and beyond, the agenda is centered around five core themes: Vitality, Regulatory Frameworks, Scientific Innovation, Sustainability Initiatives, and Business Development.

Dr. Emma Meredith, CTPA’s Director-General, remarked, “The cosmetics, personal care, and beauty sectors resonate with the Government’s Growth Mission. Our products are integral to daily life, supporting hygiene, self-confidence, and emotional well-being. From sunscreen and toothpaste contributing to public health, to soaps and hand sanitizers curbing disease spread—these items are indispensable.

“Rooted in scientific advancement and innovation, our sector spans from global corporations to numerous small and medium-sized enterprises and stands as a major export force. Committed to safety, environmental responsibility, and inclusivity, we have a presence on every high street via retail stores, salons, barbershops, and spas. This sector is a remarkable UK success story, and we are eager to collaborate with the government to ensure its sustained growth as a vital industry.”
