Estee Lauder Opens Cutting-Edge BioTech Facility
Estee Lauder Companies is excited to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art BioTech Hub in Belgium. This new site is situated in Olen, in proximity to the US beauty company’s manufacturing and distribution hub in Oeval. The focus here will be on producing bio-based raw ingredients.
Facility Features and Future Plans
Equipped with advanced technology and specialized equipment, this new hub promises to bolster ELC’s strengths in fermentation and biomolecule development for its product line. Following several months of production testing, the facility is gearing up for commercial operations which are slated to begin in 2025.
A Vision for Innovation and Sustainability
Roberto Canevari, who serves as Executive Vice President of Global Supply Chain at ELC, remarked on the importance of superior raw materials for their luxury beauty products. By generating their biotechnology-infused materials internally, especially within a primary production site, the company aims to produce on a bigger scale while maintaining sustainability and responsibility. This initiative reflects the collaborative efforts within the company’s Value Chain to foster both innovation and sustainable practices.
