Aesop’s CEO Michael O’Keefe Announces Resignation After 22 Years

After over two decades in the role, Michael O’Keefe, the long-standing CEO of Aesop, has decided to resign. Although L’Oreal, the brand’s owner, has yet to announce who will fill his position, this marks a significant transition for the company.

O’Keefe’s departure coincides with a notable milestone for the brand. This year, Aesop reached an impressive sales figure of US$1 billion. Japan has emerged as its leading market, with Korea and China showing robust growth in market share.

According to Inside Retail, O’Keefe is considering taking a sabbatical before embarking on a new venture. He expressed to AFR Weekend, “Every company reaches a point where it’s the right moment for a CEO to step aside.”
