Today, Karl Storz announced its acquisition of the medical division from T1V, a company known for its visual collaboration software. This acquisition builds on their long-term collaboration with T1V as they expand the CollaboratOR portfolio. Karl Storz states that this acquisition is pivotal for advancing their integrated system of hardware and software solutions in digital surgery, complementing their top-tier endoscopes and medical technologies.
The CollaboratOR ecosystem, a blend of hardware and cloud-based software, includes a large-format touch interface. It provides surgical teams with real-time clinical data, both pre-operative and real-time imaging, and additional critical information, fostering improved surgical collaboration and optimized processes.
Karl Storz highlights that T1V’s expertise in digital solutions will elevate its offerings in areas like multi-touch data handling, cloud-enabled collaboration, streamlined data streaming, multi-window display technologies, and remote technical support. This acquisition enriches their digital ecosystem, which now also features surgical robotics via a collaboration with Asensus.
Over the next year, Karl Storz will integrate the newly acquired T1V medical business. The acquisition will include transitioning a team of 10 employees to join Karl Storz.
Stefan Ort, COO of Karl Storz, emphasized, “This important acquisition is part of our commitment to seize future opportunities in digital surgery and innovate in healthcare. It strengthens the continued growth of our CollaboratOR line, empowering healthcare partners globally to deliver better patient outcomes.”
