The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), operating under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has announced a revised list of stakeholders engaged in the current anti-dumping examination related to the importation of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) from China and Russia.
Polytetrafluoroethylene, widely recognized as Teflon, is extensively utilized in sectors like pharmaceuticals and chemicals, attributed to its distinguishing characteristics such as being chemically inert, electrically insulating, and having low friction.
In an official correspondence to all pertinent stakeholders, the DGTR notified that the roster of registered entities expressing interest in the investigation has been officially disclosed. This follows the preliminary notice that commenced the investigation.
The list, which is available in the Trade Notice, enumerates participants involved in the investigation, comprising domestic manufacturers, exporters, importers, users, and associated groups. The DGTR has requested all listed participants to share non-confidential versions (NCVs) of their previously submitted and future documents with fellow interested parties. These submissions are to be directed via email to specified addresses, including both DGTR and the investigation team’s official contacts.
All entities listed need to disseminate the non-confidential versions (NCVs) of their documents to other interested parties. Should any party detect any discrepancies in the list—such as missing or incorrect details—they are urged to contact the DGTR without delay to facilitate necessary updates ensuring an impartial and comprehensive process.
The DGTR highlighted that such exchanges of NCV submissions are crucial in maintaining transparency and enabling all stakeholders to remain informed and actively participate in the investigation process.
The list consists of various stakeholders, including Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd., which represents the domestic industry, as well as others representing different segments of the PTFE market, including local manufacturers, international exporters, and users within India.
“Interested parties may contact the DGTR team to seek clarifications or report any discrepancies via the following email addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected],” advised Shivam Singh, deputy director, DGTR.
The anti-dumping investigation is anticipated to deliver significant insights into trade practices and guarantee fair market competition within India’s PTFE sector.
