Granules India has engaged Ovais Sarmad as an Advisor to lend his expertise in sustainability, climate policy, and environmental endeavors, aiding the company in its ongoing pursuit of integrating sustainable practices throughout its business operations.
With over three decades of experience in global climate policy and sustainable development, Sarmad is well-qualified for the role. He serves as the Vice-Chair of the Green House Gas (GHG) Protocol Steering Committee and is a former deputy executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Before joining the UNFCCC, Sarmad occupied several senior positions with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), including chief of staff and director of resources management, from 1990 to 2017.
In his new capacity as an advisor, Sarmad will lead Granules in enhancing its environmental and sustainability strategy, assisting the company as it maneuvers through the intricate world of climate action and corporate accountability.
