In alignment with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments, Dr Reddy’s Lab based in Hyderabad has partnered with Kakinada Engineering Alumni Trust Services (KEATS) to bolster infrastructure at the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential College of Excellence (for girls) and the Gurukul School (for girls) situated in Vissannapet, NTR District, Andhra Pradesh.
This endeavor is further supported by contributions from a Rotary Club. Both educational facilities, operated by the state government, serve 480 school students and 160 college students, with a focus on girls from tribal regions throughout the state, as sources reported.
As per updates from sources, Dr Reddy’s Lab is dedicated to strong environmental and community-focused initiatives. Their CSR-driven community engagement programs emphasize education, healthcare, skill-based training, and job placement for youth and individuals with disabilities, as well as agricultural training and environmental preservation. These initiatives are crafted to create long-lasting value for communities and nurture inclusive growth within society.
The launch of the program at Vissannapet was graced by Kumar Randhir Singh, head company secretary and CSR at Dr Reddy’s Lab, Hemalatha, CEO of APNRTS, D Subbarao Ravuri, Pardha Saradhi Yadhi from Rotary Midtown Vijayawada, Vijaya, deputy director of APNRTS, K Subhashini Rani, deputy secretary academic TW, A Ramu, deputy tribal welfare officer, Kondaparva Village Sarpanch, and Ramesh from Rotary Burlingame, USA, alongside representatives from KEATS.
Through this initiative, Dr Reddy’s Lab has provided infrastructure upgrades, including enhancements for the STEM Lab. Additionally, contributions, such as digital education tools financed by a Rotary Club, enable access to digital resources, innovative teaching strategies, and adequate facilities for students. The project is designed to establish a world-class educational environment, equipping girl students to excel in competitive exams like IIT-JEE, EAMCET, and NEET, and preparing them for admissions to esteemed higher education institutions.
In 2023, Dr Reddy’s Lab, in collaboration with Dr Reddy’s Foundation, worked with the district and educational authorities in Nalgonda to build a new facility for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kampasagar village. This fully residential initiative caters to girls in classes VI to X, offering five classrooms, five dormitories, a kitchen, an uninterrupted RO water supply, and sanitation amenities.
Moreover, Dr Reddy’s Lab, in partnership with Dr Reddy’s Foundation and various local and health administrative bodies, has enhanced over 11 primary health centers across villages in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, and initiated key environmental conservation efforts in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. During the fiscal year 2023-24, the CSR programs of Dr Reddy’s Lab positively influenced approximately 4.97 lakh individuals, as indicated by sources.
