Intuitive Enhances Executive Team with New Leadership Roles

Surgical robotics pioneer, Intuitive (Nasdaq: ISRG), has announced the promotion of three executives to strengthen its leadership lineup strategically.

Henry Charlton, Gary Loeb, and Jamie Samath will undertake new roles within the Sunnyvale, California headquarters.

Charlton, with a 21-year tenure at Intuitive, ascends to the position of EVP and Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer. He’s previously held significant leadership responsibilities in various regions, including the U.S., Europe, and APAC. Charlton’s track record includes key roles in global distribution, commercial organizations, regional marketing, customer service, and commercial enablement. He took on the CCO role in 2022 and expanded his remit to encompass global marketing and strategic oversight.

Loeb, who came aboard Intuitive in 2022 as SVP and General Counsel, will now transition to EVP and Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. In this capacity, he will manage the legal and governance sectors along with ESG reporting, taking the helm as Chief Compliance Officer. Loeb’s expertise covers pivotal contributions to public and private life sciences entities.

Samath will assume the role of EVP, CFO, and Enterprise Technology Leader. Joining Intuitive in 2013, Samath became CFO in 2022 and was later appointed enterprise technology leader by 2024. His responsibilities extend to the management of IT, real estate, workplace services, and purchasing.

Reporting aligns with Intuitive’s leadership as Charlton continues under President Dave Rosa, while Loeb and Samath report to CEO Gary Guthart.

“Henry, Jamie, and Gary exemplify exceptional leadership, embodying Intuitive’s core ethos and dedication to advancing minimally invasive care,” Guthart expressed. “Their promotions fortify Intuitive’s executive structure, equipping us to innovate, meet significant challenges, and maintain our leadership edge as we persist in our mission.”
