Kerala Ayurveda Practitioners’ Innovative App Captivates Crowd at WAC Arogya Expo

An innovative Ayurvedic application crafted by a team of dynamic Ayurveda experts hailing from Kerala caught the eye of attendees at the ‘Arogya Expo’ featured during the World Ayurveda Congress held recently in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Called ‘Bhishak,’ this app offers an extensive overview of various ailments, medications, laboratory tests, treatments, prescriptions, and patents.

Created by Dr. Sandeep, Dr. Rakesh, and Dr. Utham Shah from Shornur in Kerala’s Palakkad district, the application stands as a reliable resource for Ayurveda specialists, educators, and students alike.

Dr. Shah highlighted that the app elaborates on over 300 diseases, covering their causes, symptoms, diagnostics, and Ayurvedic remedies within ten distinct categories.

“It encompasses details of more than 550 Ayurvedic medicines, including components, applications, dosages, references, and expert discussions on their clinical usefulness. The app contains the most extensive repository for Panchakarma and Keraleeya specialty treatments linked with specific conditions,” he explained.

Originating at the peak of the Covid-19 crisis, this app offers comprehensive guidance on managing complications, over 60 Sweda Yogas, Netra Kriyakramas, Snehana, Swedana, Vamana, and Virechana, among others. It enables users to create bespoke prescriptions and boosts both virtual and in-person consultations.

Moreover, it features an array of proprietary Ayurvedic formulas designed to tackle targeted health issues effectively.

With the central theme of ‘Digital Health with an Ayurvedic Approach,’ the World Ayurveda Congress provided a platform for meaningful discussions on harnessing technological advancements to deliver more impactful solutions and reshape R&D initiatives relating to Ayurveda.

As the largest international gathering for Ayurvedic professionals, researchers, administrators, diplomats, instructors, and students, this biennial event was organized by the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF) in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati, the Uttarakhand government, and India’s Ministry of Ayush.

The event attracted over 5,500 participants, including 350 international delegates from 54 countries.
