Israel-based company has launched a new product by the brand name Salistick, the name itself indicates Saliva + stick means Salistick. Those women who want to know if they are pregnant used to do self-test by placing a few drops of urine on the Urine Strip & checking the change in colour of bands on the strip. Now a new rapid test device has been invented in which a urine sample is not needed. There is just one stick and a tube. Stick has foam on its tip. Stick is placed in the mouth just like a thermometer for some time & removed and then screwed into the tube. Wait for a minute or two. There is an observation panel on the tube. If two bands appear on the panel, then it means the woman is pregnant. If one band appears that means the woman is not pregnant. The appearance of the bands is due to Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin Hormone which is released in Saliva and Urine when the woman is pregnant. This test is accurate up to 95%. Now women can do a self-pregnancy test with saliva instead of urine.
